First off the Bike: Now we’re going to cast our minds forward to Beijing later this year. If you win the gold medal, is that when you say “I might have done everything”?
Emma Snowsill: Oh no I don’t think so, no. That’s very wishful thinking and if that was the case, I think I’d really like to tackle the longer distances. I really want to do Ironman and triathlon, which is almost a completely different sport itself. It’s just another challenge I’d like to take up.
First off the Bike: I remember asking you the same question about a year and a half ago and you said “you are insane”. Are you saying now that we could see you toeing the line at Port Macquarie or one of the Ironman races around the world?
Emma Snowsill: Definitely … I mean I’m not giving it a time frame or anything like that, but it’s definitely a challenge, it’s another aspect of the sport that I haven’t even dabbled in. I think it’s just a part of what you do, it’s still swim, bike and run, it’s just four or five times longer into the day. Like I said it’s just a challenge and I want to see what I can do and what I can make of it.
